The Nottingham Scheme offers a mixture of rural/urban/suburban practices with a team of committed Trainers and availability of excellent teaching hospitals posts at the Nottingham University Hospital and Nottingham City Hospital. 

All GP Registrars will be required to complete a 3 year training programme irrespective of previous experience. This is a nationwide policy. Posts commence in August each year. Posts are for units of 4 months. This again is a national policy.

At Nottingham we will offer you 20 months of General Practice training and 16 months of Hospital training. The outline of the program is shown below. Posts on the scheme include General Medicine, Health Care of the Elderly, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Accident & Emergency, Psychiatry although other posts may be offered at varying times.
