In 1973, the Nottingham Vocational Training Scheme became one of the first schemes to be approved for Postgraduate Education in General Practice in the UK. Training is now a mandatory requirement for General Practice, policed by the RCGP (Royal College of General Practitioners) and PMETB (Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board)

The scheme currently consists of:

  • 82 Registrars on the scheme

  • 30 Trainers in 25 GP training posts

  • 40 Hospital posts

Our scheme is web based with no printed material. This page is intended to provide background information for prospective GP Registrars to the scheme as well as giving you information on how to join our scheme in Nottingham.
